Education

Dr Saiyed obtained his Bachelors of Science from University of Texas at Arlington and his doctorate of dental surgery from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. He is actively learning and looking to grow by taking continuing education outside of work and is a member of the American Dental Association, Fort Worth District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. They enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Praveen Varkey’s path to Desoto Family Dentistry was driven by a single goal: to provide the highest standard of care to the families he serves. His journey began in 2002 at the College of Dental Surgery in Manipal, India, where he built his foundation in general dentistry. Not content to stop there, he moved to the United States to further his expertise, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry in 2008.

When he isn’t caring for patients or attending continuing education courses to stay at the forefront of dental technology, Dr. Varkey is a dedicated family man. He loves spending quality time with his wife, Smitha, and their three children: Emily, Evelyn, and Elijah. An avid sports fan, you might also catch him playing cricket in his spare time. Being a father helps him connect with the families he treats, understanding firsthand the busy schedules and unique needs of parents and children alike.
